OTA day 3
The cornerback corps is showing good mobility and footwork during this first week of practice. First-round pick Leodis McKelvin does not look tentative in reacting to plays in front of him. Jabari Greer, who usually has good training camps, was on the spot today on a sideline pass for Josh Reed. It was a tad behind Reed, and the ball popped in the air. Greer was right there to catch it and race down the sideline. Will James is an experienced veteran who probably is going to make the team if he stays healthy. Rookie seventh-round pick Kennard Cox shows decent agility and footwork for a big corner (he's 6-foot-1). ... J.P. Losman, Jason Peters and Lee Evans were absent from practice. ... Ko Simpson made a nice interception in the end zone on a deflected pass that went from Trent Edwards toward the tight end. ... Fred Jackson continues to show real good hands out of the backfield. ... I'm rooting for Chelsea over ManU this afternoon for the European "football" title. Rooting for Manchester United is like rooting for the Yankees, or Exxon Mobil.

Some say there are two seasons in Buffalo, football season and waiting for football season. Bills beat writers Mark Gaughan and Allen Wilson, along with sports columnist Bob DiCesare and reporters Rodney McKissic and Milt Northrop, offer background and perspective inside the Bills and the NFL.

Peters is only earning 2.2 mil a year. Is he holding out? Has anyone at the hometown paper of record bothered to ask?

Mark,
Haven't seen anywhere why Peters is absent. Is he recovered. If not, shouldn't he be around anyways?
