Underwood running well

Former Lackawanna tailback Curtis Underwood is enjoying a strong training camp at North Carolina State. The sophomore performed well during a recent scrimmage and could be the favorite to win the starting tailback job. Underwood rushed for 84 yards on 19 carries last season as a true freshman but missed spring workouts with an ankle injury.

Great news on a great kid. Some kudos should go the way of Coach Lakso at Lackawanna for making sure his kids are getting their work done in the classroom so when these opportunites are presented, kids like Curtis and Marcus Rivers (UB) can take advantage.

Rodney, thanks for the good news! Always appreciate it!!

That's great news about Underwood, but it should be noted that Underwood is getting more playing time because N.C. State's top two running backs, Toney Baker and Andre Brown, are coming off injuries and have been limited. However, I am rooting for Underwood to win the job. Would be great for the area, especially with Mike Williams crashing and burning at SU.
