Revisiting the Joba Rules
In Sunday's Inside Baseball column, I come clean with an admission that I blew it when I wrote last month that Joba Chamberlain should be a starter for the Yankees immediately. After watching the charade of building Joba up, I think this is something the Yankees should put away until next spring in Tampa.
But they're moving forward and Joba is starting again today against the Royals. So are the Yankees sacrificing too much in the eighth inning -- maybe sacrificing the season as a whole -- to have Joba on the mound once every five days? What do you want to see from him today?
---Mike Harrington

If you are a baseball fan, the only thing better than watching a game is talking about it. And there will be lots of talk here, from the Yankees to the Bisons and around the majors. Reporters Mike Harrington and Amy Moritz provide the background and commentary.

Absolutely should have been sent to Scranton, maybe even Tampa. Look again today, leaves behind in the fifth inning and now they've got to get 4+ from their relievers.

He should have been sent down to the minors for some gradual "stretching out" in pitches before starting in the majors. But the Yankees were looking for an instant answer to their problem: winning games this year.

Well, as someone who doesn't like the Yankees at all, I want to see him bomb.
