Another Colon deal for Tribe?
So the podium talk is over and it's now official: C.C. Sabathia is a Brewer and the Indians are getting four minor leaguers, including star-in-waiting Matt LaPorta. He'll start at Double-A Akron and likely be in Buffalo soon.
So is this the kind of deal that rekindles memories of Bartolo Colon for Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee and Brandon Phillips? Can it put the Brewers in contention to make a real run at the Cubs in the NL Central or at least get a leg up on the wild-card?
After 96 wins and coming within one win of the World Series in 2007, how tough is it to be an Indian fan in 2008?

If you are a baseball fan, the only thing better than watching a game is talking about it. And there will be lots of talk here, from the Yankees to the Bisons and around the majors. Reporters Mike Harrington and Amy Moritz provide the background and commentary.

Aaron: The Bisons season is mostly because of a lousy offense. Not one guy projects to be an everyday big leaguer and they're mostly retreads now. Jordan Brown is a back-to-back MVP who has had knee problems and has little power. They don't hit for average, don't move runners over, don't hit in the clutch. Other than that, everything is fine!
The starters have been better lately but they had a rough patch in the May range after Miller got hurt and Sowers and Laffey got called up. If Carmona and Westbrook don't get hurt, the Bisons would have certainly been in better shape.
Very disappointing for this to happen in last year with the Tribe.

Don't get crazy on us Mike. This is no Colon deal yet. Let's see how good LaPorta is. I just wish we'd see more of him here. The Tribe doesn't want to poison him with what's going on with the Bisons.

Mike,
What in your opinion is the reason for the lousy season the Bisons are having? Is the Indians pipeline pretty dry as all of their former top prospects are now in the bigs and anything they do have is still in A or AA ball?

How tough?
Joe-Borowski-blows-another tough.
No-one-can-move-a-runner-over tough.
Only-the-leadoff-guy-can-hit-homers tough.
Jhonny-(LOB)-Peralta-in-the- 4-hole! tough.
And-no-help-coming-from-the-Bisons tough.
In other words, pretty damn tough.
